WinZip Update

I ran a UCheck scan today, and it told me that an update for WinZip was available.  I have WinZip 25 Pro already, but the UCheck report offered WinZip 28, which deleted my Version 25 and left me with an evaluation copy of WinZip Pro 28 at a price of $39.95 per year.  I had a full licence in perpetuity for WinZip 25 Pro.  Thankfully, I was able to use Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove the new version.  I also had the original Version 25 installer file and licence key, so I am back in business.

In my view, this should not be offered as an update since it costs the user money for that update and destroys the older licensed version.

Thanks for your feedback.

It's a hard issue to tackle. We always check for the latest version of the software and do not do "Major version" check level.
I agree it's a major inconvenience for paid software, but for the moment there is no plan to feature this.

Is ignoring this software a solution for you ?

That is what I have done, modified UCheck to ignore Winzip updates.
