AdwCleaner & RogueKiller What To Do?
« on: August 03, 2017, 05:15:00 PM »

Dear Friends,
Hope all is well.
The notebook was running slightly off. I decided to run AdwCleaner which detected several PUP.Adware Heuristic object. When trying to Run the cleaning I got part way and a small window opened ***Caught unhandled unknown exception;terminating (see attachment) in order to continue I ticked OK. But it would not finish. After two attempts that did not complete. I ran MalwareBytes and it detected nothing. I decided to run RogueKiller V12.11.8.0 (see screenshots). I do not usually run RogueKiller but after some research it seemed like it would be safe enough with the proper advice.
Please advise what my next steps should be? I sincerely did not intend to take matters in to my own hands without your help. See screenshots and attachment for RogueKiller and AdwCleaner.
Thank You! Sincerely, Ralph

Apparently this is a False Positive and it's something MWB is working on?

Hi Ralph,

Welcome to Adlice.com Forum.

RogueKiller didn't detect anything malicous, these are just PUMs. For more informations, please refer to RogueKiller Official tutorial.
Regarding the issue with AdwCleaner, it's a known issue and it should be fixed in their next release.

Regards.

Note : This thread has been moved to the "RogueKiller" section for clarity.

Thank You very much...

All news to me! never had an issue with AdwareCleaner before.

I'm relieved..it appear it wasn't worth staying until 5am trying to figure this out.

Have a pleasant day.

Sinceremente,
Raffaele
