The same PUP.Gen1 viruses keep re-appearing
« on: June 21, 2017, 08:06:17 PM »
No matter how many times I run a scan; the program still detects the same 2 objects over and over again (Yes, I do remove the selected objects everytime). I attached the report to the post. Please I could really use the help, its getting really frustrating.(I forgot to mention I have reinstalled chrome thinking it would resolve this but it didnt)

Hi VirusBegone,

Welcome to Adlice.com Forum.
These keys are recreated on reboot by AVG Secure Search program. Uninstalling it should do the trick.

Regards.

Hi Curson, I know this is unrelated to RogueKiller but do you have any advice on removing Avg Secure Search?

No avg software is in my programs and features list
I have ran scans with other software like Malwarebytes and Eset
I have reset the settings in my chrome browser
No avg extension is in my extensions list

then I ran Roguekiller again and the same objects appeared  :-[

Are these objects actually harmful/affects performance? or are they just annoying? I dont even see any Avg popups or anything similar

Hi VirusBegone,

These detections are Potentially Unwanted Programs, so they are not really harmful.
For more information, please read Remove Mysearch.Avg.com redirect.

Removing AVG Chrome extension may help.
Do you want me to help you get rid of these redirections ?

Regards.

No thank you Curson, I fixed it. It was an issue with the Google sync service, it caused the 2 pups to re-appear everytime, I disabled syncing and ran roguekiller.

Your help is very much appreciated Curson, thanks again
