Title: Translations!
Post by: Tigzy on June 05, 2014, 09:43:49 am
Hello :)

EDIT: 12/28/2016
Current complete translations are: EN, FR, TU, PO, IT, CN, DE. All others are YET TO BE DONE! :)

EDIT: 10/01/2015
If you wish to be notified on new version of translations (thus that need an update), please subscribe to the Translators mailing list:
http://eepurl.com/bA7nOj

EDIT: 07/03/2016
We are now offering FREE LIFETIME licenses for our translators, because we know the amount of work it's needed for the new version (12). This only works for past translators, and for a full translation (If you update an existing file that won't work).

EDIT: 03/13/2017
Due to a refactoring, some translations are now moved into a "Common" folder, and some "Installer" folder has been added. Common translations are shared across several projects, and installer translations are only used into the installation wizard. They are all needed, so please make sure you translate everything

EDIT: 03/13/2017
Installer translations have a different format, but it's easy:
MyStringToTranslate=This is the actual string that you need to replace

We need translators !

Actually, we already have several languages available, but due to many updates and improvements, those translations are outdated.
If you willing to help and you are bilingual, please help use to improve those translations.

The files needed are available here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fuydwcwul2ye3ko/AAA3Eeqkvw7mTf1BeRibrFL7a?dl=0

- .ts files are the translations themselves.
- QTLinguist is the program needed to update the files
- .iss files are files for the installer, they need to be edited with Notepad++ (or any notepad)

Dropbox tries to open them as audio file. First, toggle the list view instead, that's better to see the file names. You have to click on the file, then when it says "cannot read the audio file", click on download. Put it on the desktop if you want.

Here's the way to translate .ts files:

1.If you didn't find your language, and you want to start a new one
- Pick the lang_template.ts file
- Rename it as lang_<your_language>.ts
- Download and extract QTLinguist
- Open the .ts file with it
- "Edit" menu, "Translation file settings" => Select your language in Target language and validate.

2.If you want to update an existing translation
- Pick the lang_<your_language>.ts file
- Download and extract QTLinguist
- Open the .ts file with it

3.Common part
- Use the "Go next unfinished" button to go to first item
- Translate it
- Use the "Mark as finished" button to validate the translation and go to next item
- Redo that until everything is translated and save

(See attached image)

- Please try to make the sentences (if any) the shortest as possible
- Submit your translation on the forum, in this thread :)

If you want more information about QTLinguist, here's the official documentation: http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-4.8/linguist-translators.html (http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-4.8/linguist-translators.html)

Here's the way to translate .iss files:

1.If you didn't find your language, and you want to start a new one
- Pick the en.iss file
- Rename it as <your_language>.iss
- Open the .ts file with any notepad (Notepad++ for example)
- Translate the part that is the RIGHT of the equal sign (Ex: some_key=Hello => some_key=Bonjour), leave the key untouched.

Thanks!

I almost forgot about the translation lol.

Anyway, I would like to know, before finish mine's, some things. There are some lines on to translate which contains language (probably HTML). This is normal and how should I handle this?

I'll send printscreens of what I am talking about.

Post by: Tigzy on October 07, 2014, 05:34:05 pm
Yes, this is wanted.
Maybe this can be changed in the future for easier translation...  :-X
So... basically, just translate the text inside the HTML (aka keep the formatting and so on)
Example:

<html>some text in english</html>
=>
<html>some text in another language</html>
Title: Re: Translations!
Post by: Ediel on October 07, 2014, 09:31:17 pm
Well, here it is. The brazilian portuguese translation.

I asked the previous question just to be sure. Although some of the lines were URLs and there's no way to "translate them. lol

Still on this, you'll notice some terms are the same. Some of them are really equals in portuguese, but other terms are equal because the translation of them literally would case confusion instead of simplify things.

I hope it's good!

Thanks Ediel :)
Can you please take a look at the shared folder, I've added your file and updated it with latest source. I think the file you took was pretty old...
This is not a big deal, since you just need to add the new translations, the ones you did are still in there.
Title: Re: Translations!
Post by: Ediel on October 08, 2014, 06:43:31 pm
Thanks!

I took the updated file and I worked on it. But again I ran in some doubts  :-[.

See the printscreens. There is  the word 'key'. I am not certain which meaning this word have on this context. Is it a key like a serial for a product or a key like a password? Depending on which one is, there's a different translation.

Hey,
That's a license key, so something like 12345-12345-123456789-12345-12345.
Does that clarify the thing? You can have a beta license key if you want   :D

Code: [Select]
RogueKiller V10.2.0.0 [Jan 19 2015] door Adlice Software
...
¤¤¤ Processen : 1 ¤¤¤
[Proc.Svchost] svchost.exe(5216) -- [x] -> Vermoord [TermThr]
A better Dutch translation for "Vermoord" on the above line would be "Gestopt".

Hello,
I've done the Polish translation of RogueKiller from scratch.

Please provide me the context of the following strings:
Vendor in FormQuarantineManager
Transfert in FormTransfert
VirusTotal Download in QtController
Root in RogueKillerQtClass (maybe registry hive?)

What does "Action not authorized during initialization. Please wait." mean in "QtController"?

FormRegistration "Instances Remaining:" - is that the number of the PCs remaining on which the key can be used?

"Polskie" That's the plural form of Polish and it's capitalized while it should be written in lower case.
Correctly: "polski".

Hi malware1,

Welcome to Adlice.com Forum.
Many thanks for your contribution to RogueKiller.

Quote
Vendor in FormQuarantineManager
Family/kind of the malware.
Quote
Transfert in FormTransfert
Data upload/download.
Quote
VirusTotal Download in QtController
Retreving the information about a specific file within VirusTotal (https://www.virustotal.com) database.
Quote
Root in RogueKillerQtClass (maybe registry hive?)
Root directory.
Quote
What does "Action not authorized during initialization. Please wait." mean in "QtController"?
This sentence is displayed when the user try to interact with the program before the end of the prescan. Before it finishes, any action from the user is denied.
Quote
FormRegistration "Instances Remaining:" - is that the number of the PCs remaining on which the key can be used?
Yes, exactly.
Quote
"Polskie" That's the plural form of Polish and it's capitalized while it should be written in lower case.
Correctly: "polski".
Thanks for letting us know. This will be fixed as soon as possible.

Here's the updated Polish translation: http://m1.malwarehunterteam.com/files/RogueKiller.zip
I have a request - can you give me a special build with the new translation so I can check if all words fit in the UI before it's released? Maybe some sentences should be shortened.

Title: Re: Translations!
Post by: malware1 on September 22, 2015, 08:58:55 pm
I have a suggestion - many translations of RogueKiller are outdated because not everybody monitors new versions of the program and some people are simply unaware that their translations need to be updated. So why don't you gather up e-mail addresses from your translators and send them a notification that there are new strings before the application is updated? That way at least some of the translations can stay up-to-date whenever an update is released.

Hi malware1,

We won't be able to release "preview" version but please keep in mind that a new version is released almost every week. If something goes wrong with the translation, it will always be fixed in a short period of time.

Additionally, thanks to your suggestion, we will shortly begin to send email notifications to the translators when strings of RogueKiller are updated. :)

Updated Polish translation (http://m1.malwarehunterteam.com/files/RogueKiller.zip)

&lt;html&gt;&lt;head/&gt;&lt;body&gt;&lt;p&gt;Don&apos;t hesitate &lt;span style=&quot; font-weight:600;&quot;&gt;to drop us a rating&lt;/span&gt;, wether you purchased the Premium version or not.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/body&gt;&lt;/html&gt;

"wether" should be "whether". Can you also tell me what does it mean in that sentence? Is the sentence supposed to mean "Don't hesitate to drop us a rating even if you haven't purchased the Premium version"? (That's how I translated it for now)

Typos:
"Consider potentially unwated modifications (PUM) as malware"
"Consider potentially unwated programs (PUP) as malware"
"Enter you email address here"
"Don't open third party software unpon scanning (notepad, web browser)"

"Unselect All"
"Reset Selection"
What is the difference between these two?

"There are pending items, are you sure you want to cancel?"
What does "pending" refer to? To the items which weren't removed?

"This item cannot be removed"
Is it an error message ("Failed to remove this item") or something like "This item should not be removed"?

"Junction"
What does it refer to? A symbolic link?

"Finished."
Scan finished? Removal finished?

"Dashboard"
Home page?

We are now offering FREE LIFETIME licenses for our translators, because we know the amount of work it's needed for the new version (12). This only works for past translators, and for a full translation (If you update an existing file that won't work).

I'm the original translator of Chinese Traditional language and I do a full translation. I want to know why I have not FREE LIFETIME licenses.

Hi!. Here is a full translation for spanish language. It's a spanish (Spain), or you can call it Spanish (International), or translated Español (España), o Español (Internacional). I downloaded the template 3-4 days ago so i supose its updated, and it's for the last version. I have tried to do my best, hope it's enough good for you.

I have put optionals translations in the coments of the translation file, in case you need it, but i put what i think its the best in the main translation, so probabily you won't need it. The only one that i think you will want to change is under the General Settings, the "Web Server:" On/Off. Cause the translation is Endendido/Apagado, but i think there is no enough space for it, so i suggest to change it for a  Si/No  (Yes/No), it fit and it will be understood what it means, but its your decision. The "Ok" has been translated as "Aceptar" (Accept), cause its the usual translation, and Ok its not a spanish word, but if you need it, you can leave the "ok's", everyone knows what it means.

I think the translation its good, but when you send me the Premium Lifetime License i could see much better if everything is fine, i only have the Free version now, so there are things that i can't see at the moment.
If you need something, you can contact me by email, but i will watch those days if you reply me here too.

A last thing... i found a little bug in the software. When you start a scan, if you pause it, and cancel, finish, and then starts a new scan, the button is saying "resume" as if it were still in pause.

If so, please open a new ticket using the Contact Form (http://www.adlice.com/contact/) to claim your Translator License. Make sure to include your pseudo and a link to this thread.

Thanks for the optionals translations. if needed, we can adjust the space dedicated to the strings.

It's perfect.

Official translator? maybe yes, but tellme... what exactly means to be official translator?, what dutys i will have? and what i get in exchange? I can translate every new version you release, but i can't do it for free. You promised a Free Lifetime license reward for this full translation that i already have done (and i hope to get), but if i go on doing all the translations for your software, i will need something more than a license... Tell me more about this, we can come to an agreement.

Hi Jatune,

Sorry, I haven't expressed myself clearly.
Saying "Official Translator", I was wondering if you intend to keep your translation up-to-date since RogueKiller UI may change over time.

Thanks!
