UCheck finds updates for these two programs (also see the attached screenshots):
- EaseUS Partition Master [64 bits]
- EaseUS TODO Backup Home 2023 [32 bits]

The problem is, that the versions it finds do not exist, or at least I can't find them. I am as far as I know on the latest version of both, see the attached screenshots that show which versions those are. I have confirmed with EaseUS technical support that what I have installed is indeed the latest version of both programs.

Please also see the attached UCheck report.

And please pretty please, change your "captcha" challenge, it's super annoying and very easy to drop an icon wrong so you have to start all over. A bit overkill if you ask me, and as I said, super annoying. Even when I'm sure I've dropped each picture in the correct category it keeps giving me a new challenge. It took me 5-6 retries just to post this.

Edit: The captcha was no longer triggered after my first post, only when I registered my account here and when I made my very first post. It was a PITA, but if it's not triggered it's OK. :)

Hi chjohans,

Welcome to Adlice.com Forum.

Sorry about the CAPTCHA, we had a spam folder for a long time before we implemented it.
We will migrate to reCPATCHA v3 in the future for ease of use but it's low priority.

Could you please attach UCheck scan lastest report with your next reply ?

Regards.

Hi,
I have two programs that uCheck is reporting as the latest version but are in fact alpha and beta versions -  screenshot and scan report attached. They are:
1. Total Commander
2. Python

With Total Commander the problem is that the latest final version is 11.02. The version before that was 11.02 beta 6, hence the version that uCheck finds - 11.02.6. I assume uCheck thinks that 11.02.6 is a greater number than 11.02 so it must  be a later version, which is not the case.
With Python, the current production version is 3.12. Version 3.13 is an alpha build which Python does not recommend you use in a production setting.

Keep up the good work with uCheck. After support for SUMo ended, uCheck and WingetUI, out of all the many program updaters out there, were what I settled on, and WingetUI is a bit buggy.

Thanks.

UCheck still finds updates for these two programs, 3 weeks after being told it would be fixed:
- EaseUS Partition Master [64 bits]
- EaseUS TODO Backup Home 2023 [32 bits]

Then lately it will also show a bogus update for MS Visual Studio Code, please see the attached screenshot.

It shows an available update from 1.84,.0 to 1.84.2, but the thing is, I'm already on that version, as can be seen in the second screenshot attached.

Now it also says on "Mouseover" "Warning! This item is an old duplicate of existing latest version. It will be removed on processing.". But no, it never goes away, I'm already on the latest version, and I do not have the older version installed in a different path. If I exclude this with "Skip this update" it will disappear only to appear again on the next scan. Pretty stubborn and annoying!

Microsoft PC Manager and Textify are both updated to the latest versions I've been able to find anywhere, UCheck has been reporting the newer versions for a couple of weeks now.
Farbar Recovery Scan Tool - the version number is the date (day.month.year.revision). Ucheck is picking up a version from 31.10.2023 as being a newer version than 27.01.2024.

Everything (64-bit), version 1.4.1.1024

  • Available Version        : 1.5.0.1366

Could you please confirm you are managing it with the PortableApps application ?
Since they repackage exising setup we do not suppport these.

Is Textify managed by with the PortableApps application ?

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool. Ucheck is picking up a version from 31.10.2023 as being a newer version than 27.01.2024.
This is intended behaviour since version numbering should follow a rise in number (31 is greater than 27, hence a new major version).
I'm sorry, but this won't be fixed.

Hi Curson,

I am directly downloading the portable version from their website; no other app is involved.
https://www.voidtools.com/Everything-1.4.1.1024.x64.zip

Edit: Similar issue with Telegram. Ucheck is suggesting Pre-release version (4.14.11) as an update to the latest version installed and available (4.14.9) on their Github.

Quote
Telegram Desktop (64-bit), version 4.14.9.0

  • Available Version        : 4.14.11.0
  • Size                     : 139 MB
  • Wow6432                  : No

  • update_location          : D:\Backup\PortableApps\Telegram\Telegram.exe

Edit:2 Added new scan report.

The mis-reported update for voidtools Everything is because uCheck can't distinguish between beta versions (Everything 1.5.x) and production versions (Everything 1.4.x)

Hi,

here's another beta/pre-release detection.

UCheck detects a pre-release version of Windows Subsystem for Linux as the latest version.

See https://github.com/microsoft/WSL/releases (https://github.com/microsoft/WSL/releases) and the attached report.

Regards.

Yes, I run the Beta of Microsoft PC Manager on purpose.

No, Textify is not managed by the PortableApps application.

I'm sorry, but this won't be fixed.
I understand, but it's sad that a different method of version numbering can't won't be accommodated when other apps manage the exception.

SeaMonkey 2.53.19 is still in development as of Mar. 26, 2024 (not even in beta).

According to this (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1885417 (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1885417)), 2.53.18.2 will be the next SeaMonkey release as 2.53.19 still "needs a bit of work".

SeaMonkey 2.53.19 is still in development as of Mar. 26, 2024 (not even in beta).

Hello,

Ucheck is still detecting pre-release versions of telegram.
v4.16.2 is latest stable version but UCheck still shows 4.16.3 as an update, which is currently a pre-release version.
https://github.com/telegramdesktop/tdesktop/releases

Same with Office 365, latest version is still 17425.20146 (Current Channel) as shown on office website. But UCheck is showing update for it.

The current version of curl is still 8.7.1, as of Apr. 07 19 26 May 03, 2024.

See https://curl.se/download.html, the Changelog (https://curl.se/changes.html) and the release page (https://github.com/curl/curl/releases) on GitHub.

Hi Everyone!

I'm wondering, if this is the right place to report erroneous detections?

In my previous post (https://forum.adlice.com/index.php?topic=3808.msg10765#msg10765), almost a month ago, I reported a wrong version of curl.
Since then, nothing changed (neither the curl version nor the detection in UCheck ;) ).

So, if there's a better place to report this, please let me know.

Thanks and regards!
