Question only...no issues
« on: January 22, 2019, 09:05:08 PM »
Happy New Year, RK team.

Firstly, I apologize if this question has already been addressed.
I am terribly busy and don't always follow the latest information, but I did try to find answer on your website..

Regarding the updated V13 features of RogueKiller Premium, does it no longer scan for rootkits?

When viewing scan options, the user has a choice of 3 different ways to scan; 1) quick scan 2) custom scan and 3) the recommended "Scan Everything", which I routinely use.

Although the above 2) and 3) scan options both list rootkit scanning included, it also states "(coming soon)".
I've included a screen shot for clarity.

Previous to V13, the scanned results showed a "anti-rootkit" module category.
This appears to no longer be the case.

Is rootkit scanning actually "coming soon" or is it already included under the "modules" scan result category?

I have not seen any kind of detections under "modules". It only concerns me because of the "coming soon" confusion,
Believe me, I'm not complaining. No news is good news.

Many thanks,
CJ

Hi calamityjane,

Happy New Year, to you too.

For the time being, RoguKiller does not scan for rootkits anymore. We didn't have enough time to include this feature in V13.1 it but it should be back in the V13.2 version which we will release as soon as possible.
The interface is indeed a bit misleading, sorry for the confusion.

Regards.

Thanks Curson.

Your answer begets another question.

Per
https://www.adlice.com/introducing-roguekiller-13/

Under the " list of the major changes", it states:

"Simplification: Moved tools and expert mode to Adlice Diag"

My question-
Does Adlice Diag scan for rootkits?

Do any of your products currently scan for rootkits?

CJ

Hi calamityjane,

You are welcome.
No, at the time being, none of our products do scan for rootkits.
