audiodg.exe
« on: October 08, 2016, 06:07:40 PM »
I have a problem when Roguekiller scans. I have windows 10 and am using the free version of Roguekiller. RK is current. Going through the processes RK freezes and freezes my computer when it hits audiodg.exe. My understanding this is a Windows process that keeps audio settings constant from user to user and also prevents outside sources, like spyware, from making changes to these settings. The only way out is to power off the computer. Everything freezes, mouse keyboard. If I run RK in safe mode this does not happen. Any ideas?

Let me add I just ran Process Hacker and was unable to terminate audiodg.exe but did suspend it and the same thing happened when I ran RK.

Curson:

I installed RK on a remote device and ran it from there and had no problems.  That's a much easier solution than going into safe mode to scan. Of course the fix would be the easiest solution.

Thanks

Hi dogohio,

You are welcome.
Using RogueKiller from a remote device is an interesting workaround. Thanks for bringing it up. :)
