RogueKiller PREMIUM / Re: Question only...no issues

Thanks Curson.

Your answer begets another question.

Per
https://www.adlice.com/introducing-roguekiller-13/

Under the " list of the major changes", it states:

"Simplification: Moved tools and expert mode to Adlice Diag"

My question-
Does Adlice Diag scan for rootkits?

Do any of your products currently scan for rootkits?

RogueKiller PREMIUM / Question only...no issues

Happy New Year, RK team.

Firstly, I apologize if this question has already been addressed.
I am terribly busy and don't always follow the latest information, but I did try to find answer on your website..

Regarding the updated V13 features of RogueKiller Premium, does it no longer scan for rootkits?

When viewing scan options, the user has a choice of 3 different ways to scan; 1) quick scan 2) custom scan and 3) the recommended "Scan Everything", which I routinely use.

Although the above 2) and 3) scan options both list rootkit scanning included, it also states "(coming soon)".
I've included a screen shot for clarity.

Previous to V13, the scanned results showed a "anti-rootkit" module category.
This appears to no longer be the case.

Is rootkit scanning actually "coming soon" or is it already included under the "modules" scan result category?

I have not seen any kind of detections under "modules". It only concerns me because of the "coming soon" confusion,
Believe me, I'm not complaining. No news is good news.

Many thanks,
CJ

I uninstalled the remaining (non-functional) remnants of V13.0.11.0 that were left after the intentional uninstall of V13.0.3.0.
I was able to successfully keep my log history  and Premium license key by using the selective RevoUninstaller software.

I downloaded V13 and re-ran a scan.
The UCheck mini-scan no longer shows RogueKiller and I have the latest V13.0.12.0

All is good!

RogueKiller PREMIUM / Re: Forum login issue
« on: November 22, 2018, 05:32:55 PM »
Thanks for your reply, Curson.

Actually, I was so "programmed" to using the upper right corner log-in that I did not even realize there was an alternative  login link on the aforementioned bar, until I had exhausted other ideas.

Originally, I thought my security-privacy settings were the culprit, so I screwed around with them, to no avail.

So after changing passwords a couple of times, and in an attempt to troubleshoot, yesterday, I registered a brand new Forum membership, thinking my original one became a virtual "persona non grata". (use it or lose it??)
.
Of course, the new membership account did not work either, after logging out and attempting to re-log in (iupper right corner).

~~
To delete the new membership account that I created yesterday, 21Nov, can I just reply to the " Welcome to Adlice forum" email from webmaster@adlice.com with a  "delete membership" in the subject line?

RogueKiller PREMIUM / Forum login issue
« on: November 22, 2018, 12:13:53 AM »
It's me again!

It's been a while since I posted to the Forum, before today.
I have always logged in using the upper right corner login button without issue, but something has changed.

Here's the details-
I've included 2 attachments for clarification.

There are 2 locations to log-on (see attachment "RK Log-in buttons").

However, the login location in the upper right corner no longer works for me.
(see attachment "Login failure - Error has occured")

The login location on the bar, below the "Adlice Software" icon (between "Search" and "Register")  works as it should.

Thanks Curson,

Per your request for the RegExport.log, I've included it in attachment.

Regarding the RogueKiller`"outdated versions", you are correct insofar as V13.0.3.0 and 13.0.11.0 showing separately in "Add/Remove Programs".

It never occurred to me to check that!
I suppose this might have happened when I had to manually download an update.

At any rate, prior to the old version uninstall, I got a pop-up message that both versions were located in the same folder and that removal of the old might impact the latest version. (my words, I can't remember exactly what the message was).

Unfortunately, post-uninstall, the latest V13.0.11.0 was  deleted along with V13.0.3.0
I have not, as of yet, reinstalled RogueKiller, but I'll do it in the morning.

Again, and as always, I'm grateful for your kind support.

Addendum:

I did not mean to say, "I have not purchased the UCheck".

I meant to say that I have not downloaded UCheck.

RogueKiller PREMIUM / False positive?
« on: November 21, 2018, 04:24:05 PM »
Hello there,

I am using your V13.0.11.0 anti-malware.

Starting with RogueKiller V13, last month, I have been getting the following detected item:

¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ Registry ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤
>>>>>> O83 - Svchost Services
[Suspicious.Path (Potentially Malicious)] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Svchost|LocalServiceNoNetwork -- PLA DPS BFE mpssvc ehstart -> Found

Prior to V13, this has never shown up.
Can you shed any light on this?

I'm using Vista, SP2.

Also,

1. This detection appears whether the MalPE is enabled or not.

2. (unrelated to above detection)
During the scanning process, you have incorporated a real-time notification (in the orange band), regarding what UCheck is detecting as outdated software, when I move the cursor over the area.
.
However, it is including RogueKiller, TWICE, as outdated.
It is listing V13.0.3.0 and also 13.0.11.0 (updated this past Monday).

I have not purchased the UCheck, just to be clear.
I am only referring to what is shown during the RogueKiller scan.

Many thanks!

Sure thing, Curson.

As expected, no detection with Palemoon portable browser closed.

2 attachments enclosed.

RogueKiller PREMIUM / Real or false positive?

Hi guys,

Today, after downloading RogueKiller V12.11.14.0 [Sep 11 2017] (Premium),

This item was flagged under Memory (Processes)-

Detection          PID           NAME                                  PATH
MalPE.35      5228       Palemoon-Portable.exe       E:\Pale Moon FOLDER\Palemoon-Portable.exe
                                      (signed by Markus Straver)

VT Score       Status
1                        Found

Further,

For those readers, unaware, Palemoon is a browser "clone", so to speak, of Mozilla Firefox.
I have been using the portable version, on my E drive (flash) without any problems.
I have been "testing" it against my long-time Firefox browser, which I have been less and less thrilled with, over time.
So far, I have been happy with Palemoon and I hope that this detection is a false positive.

Please, please tell me this is not real.
Regards to all,
cj

Ps-  My Palemoon browser was open when I ran the Roguekiller scan.

I will re-run with Palemoon closed, just to see if it sheds any light on this subject, and I'll report results, asap.

Hi Curson,
It's me again, sorry to say.

Same issue with attempting to update to V12.11.10 08/14/2017
=================
I do see where the remarks state:

"- Fixed issue with uploader (please note this will apply to next update)"

In the meanwhile,
I would be grateful if you would kindly provide me with a link to properly update to 12.11.10

Regards,
cj

RogueKiller PREMIUM / Cannot Update
« on: August 07, 2017, 07:25:44 PM »
This problem first appeared when attempting to update v12.11.8.0 to the next version.

I thought I'd wait till today in the event another new update arrived.

I'm still showing v12.11.9.0 from 3Aug17.

Still unable to update today,

but since no others are complaining on forum, I assume the problem's mine but not sure why.

Specifically, when I click on "update" (see RK update jpg), I am literally kicked out of RK app (see RK app jpg).

I can't think of anything I did (ie, firewall blocking) and I get no errors or anything else unusual happening.

One more thing...
Before I became Premium, I used to update via the standard provided links.
I was going to try this but now I can't find where those links are.
Help!

Hi Curson,
I deleted the "debug" folder.
However, I won't be able to confirm notification status until your next update since this error seems to only show up either during or just after the update.

I will certainly let you know the results.
Also, I wanted to express my deep appreciation for your kind assistance and the good work of all concerned.

Regards,
cj
