RogueKiller / Re: Rogue killer 11.0.11.0 64X Freezes with full RAM usage

Hi Gabgab,

Welcome to Adlice.com Forum.

RogueKiller should be able to smoothly handle large files . This is definitely a bug.
However, I was not able to reproduce it on my end. Could you please follow the following process to help us troubleshoot this issue ?

1) Download RogueKiller (64 bits version) and save it on your desktop.
2) Download ProcDump and save it on your desktop.
3) Launch the command prompt windows (cmd) with admin rights and copy/paste the following command :
Code: [Select]
"%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\procdump.exe" -h -m 4096 -ma -accepteula -x %USERPROFILE%\Desktop "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\RogueKillerX64.exe"
Do not close the command prompt !

4) Please start a new scan. When RogueKiller RAM allocation reach 4gb, a dump file will be created. Please wait until the command prompt closure before terminating RogueKiller.
5) A new file named RogueKillerX64.exe_<datetime>.dmp should has been created on your desktop. Please zip it, upload it on Google Drive/Dropbox and share the link here.

Regards.

hi there

guess what? I have done that and it was able to finish the scan without hangs, what a classic! only difference is that I had roguekiller.exe on the desktop and not in the proper folder, as this batch command you gave me needs it to be in the Desktop...

strange stuff!

thanks,
Gabrio

I have Windows 10 and even did a system restore, downloaded RogueKiller64 again and reinstalled and still it hangs on 54 to 55 percent.  What do I do?

had a similar issue, it allocated all the RAM and that happened while scanning a .mkv video file

RogueKiller / Rogue killer 11.0.11.0 64X Freezes with full RAM usage
« on: February 10, 2016, 10:36:15 AM »
Hi there

I have installed rogue killer 11.0.11.0 on my win 7 ultimate 64x laptop and i noticed that after about 50% scan the program gets stuck scanning a .mkv movie from what i can read on status bar and then it will eventually almost freeze the computer.

By having a look at task manager it allocated 4gb of ram which is enough to kill the whole windows and pc cant do a anything else. I had to restart it and took like 10 minutes to unload all that ram.

Is there a way to prevent this happening? Shall i unselect video files scanning?

I had an earlier version of roguekiller and that didnt happen.

Thanks
Gab
