I noticed that on my PC as I use an ATA IDE HardDisk Drive , I do a scan with Roguekiller and after that my IDE Controller is automatically reset on PIO mode instead of UDMA 5
Seagate 5000 GB disk on XP
Even if it is not reproducible on demand, it is quite recurrent to make the link
I generally notice the changing mode and after that I look at the date of my last scan and bingo it is the day before as before that 2 weeks had passed without problem nor scan.

Hi Aruval,
We need more information about your HDD.
Please download smartmontools (x86) (https://www.sendspace.com/file/7ijw8u) and save it on your desktop.
Launch the command prompt windows (cmd) with admin rights and copy/paste the following command :
"%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\smartctl.exe" -al selftest /dev/hda > "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\HDDinfo.log"
A new file named HDDinfo.log should has been created on your desktop.
Please attach it with your next reply.
Regards.

Hi Aruval,
Your IDE drive is not in perfect shape. Do you make backup in a regular basis ?
Do the same thing happen when you do a full scan with your antivirus software ?
Launch the command prompt windows (cmd) with admin rights and copy/paste the following command :
"%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\smartctl.exe" -t long /dev/hda
Don't shutdown or restart your computer for the following four hours !

Hi
I did a complete long test with SeaTools for DOS and it was concluded : passed
(2015-08-16)
but I had a doubt so I make regular back up
The drive made sometimes strange noises and after some system hang, it was BIOS unrecognized
in that cas (2 times) the solution was to boot in dual with a Sata that I have (an old one) and after that this Seagate was recognized again.
I will do your test
why 4 hours ?

Hi Aruval,
The drive made sometimes strange noises and after some system hang, it was BIOS unrecognized
Your HDD or ATA connector is failing. Don't consider it reliable anymore !
I will do your test. why 4 hours ?
Don't do this test. Since the drive is failing, it won't do any good.
Launch the command prompt windows (cmd) with admin rights and copy/paste the following command :
"%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\smartctl.exe" -aHl selftest /dev/hda > "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\HDDSMART.log"
A new file named HDDSMART.log should has been created on your desktop.
Please attach it with your next reply.
Regards.

Hi Aruval,
Your HDD seems to be in a stable state. It should be able to operate (mostly) properly but I advice you not to trust it blindfoldly since it could fail at any moment.
On our side, there is nothing we can do to help you further.
Regards.

Ok, Thanks Curson
There is something that I noticed : Roguekiller seems not to be able to find Firefox Profile Folders when they are situated in not conventional places. So before scans I copy paste the current Firefox profile at the conventional place and then RK can scan the folder, displaying all extensions names.
Perhaps it could be better by adding a feature to automatically finding this profile folder whose path is written in the profiles.ini file

Hi Aruval,
You are welcome.
In regards to your suggestion about Firefox Profiles, I will ask Tigzy about it.
