Title: New user: Program located in folder that doesn't exist
Post by: gftaylor on November 03, 2023, 02:42:22 AM
I have just installed UCheck as an alternative to SUMO. One question that I have is that UCheck indicates that I need to update a version of WinMerge that I think I uninstalled. When I look at the Updates view, UCheck shows that WinMerge version 2.16.32.0 needs to be updated and that this program is located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\WinMerge".

While it was formerly installed in that folder (and uninstalled more than a week before UCheck ran for the first time), that folder is no longer present in "C:\Program Files (x86)".

Hi gftaylor,

Welcome to Adlice.com Forum and thanks for your feedback.

I seems like a bug to me. Could you please follow these instructions :

- Open UCheck
- Click on the "History and Settings > "History" buttons
- Open the first report, export it and attach it with your next reply as attachment

Regards.

Curson,
I'm not sure whether "first" means the first report in the list or the oldest report in the list, so I have attached both.

I found a leftover key in the registry that pointed to the deleted WinMerge 2.16.32.0 and included the deleted path. After I removed this key from the registry UCheck no longer listed this entry. Note that the initial included report is from before my deletion of this entry.
