UCheck / Re: Minor Display Bug
« on: October 04, 2019, 06:16:30 pm »
Curzon:

I had one update notification from UCheck today, to update FileZilla from Version 3.44.2. to Version 3.45.1.  Please note that on the screen image, UCheck is indicating that it is downloading the old version, not the new version.  UCheck did update my FileZilla from Version 3.44.2 to Version 3.24.1.

Thank you and have a great day.

Regards,
-Phil

UCheck / Re: Minor Display Bug

Curzon:

No, I can't reproduce the bug because both of my computers are now updated to OpenOffice 4.1.7.  I will watch very closely every time that I use UCheck weekly to update my software to see if that glitch occurs again and I will report any possible new recurrence of that issue in a new topic.  I will get a screenshot if it occurs again with a different software update.

Thank you for looking into this for me.  You can conclude this topic.  Have a great day.

Thank you, Curson.  I will await your findings with interest.

You are most welcome for my spam reporting.  I hate spammers because they abuse Forums everywhere for their own personal interests, usually greed.

UCheck / Minor Display Bug
« on: September 27, 2019, 09:21:09 pm »
Today, I did my weekly scan with UCheck and it reported both TeamViewer and OpenOffice needed to be updated.  OpenOffice went from 4.1.6 to 4.1.7, and the build number changed for TeamViewer 14.  I did not pay any attention to the TeamViewer update, but when I selected OpenOffice and told it to download, the top line of the screen told me that UCheck was downloading 4.1.6., not 4.1.7.  UCheck did download 4.1.7. and then subsequently install install the new version when so directed.  I don't know if this minor display bug affects other programs, but I thought that I would bring it to your attention and I will be watching more closely every Friday when I do my UCheck scans to see if this minor bug is replicated.

Thank you and have a great day.  UCheck is a great product and very easy to use.  I recommend it.

-Phil

UCheck / Can You Add Mediainfo program
« on: March 15, 2019, 05:27:55 pm »
I am a CCleaner Pro customer and they just this week released their own program updater for CCleaner Pro customers.  Their product detected that my Mediainfo program was seriously out of date.  UCheck Premium does not apparently check this program.

Could it be added to the programs that UCheck will update?  The freeware Mediainfo program is used a lot by video and sound editors because it displays detailed information about media files.

Just a suggestion.  Thank you and have a great weekend.

UCheck / Latest Version of UCheck and Speccy FP
« on: March 01, 2019, 08:44:51 pm »
My UCheck Premium updated its version to the latest version this morning, and I then ran a scan.  It reported Speccy as being out of date (1.32 -> 1.32.740).  I did the update to Speccy and rebooted and carried on for several hours doing my weekly backup system images and system scans.

When I scanned with RogueKiller Premium later in the afternoon, it told me that I had one "outdated software" on my computer and to download UCheck Free.  I ran my UCheck Premium again and once again it detected that Speccy was out of date, but I had the current version installed.

Submitted for your information.  Have a great weekend.

-Phil

Curzon:

Thank you for your reply.  Now that I have purchased RogueKiller Premium, I will be poking around and I will also be monitoring my Malware Removal Log topics even more closely, since, as a part of my standard anti-malware scans, I ask my users to run RogueKiller.  You can expect see me around in your Forums now that I am registered.

Thank you for looking into these issues for me.  Have a great weekend.

RogueKiller / Re: ===> False Positives <===
« on: January 23, 2019, 07:06:03 pm »
Curzon:

Thank you for your explanations, but if a file is tagged as [VT.Unknown], should RogueKiller default to removing it, if the user selects the clean?  Many users are going to think that RogueKiller has detected the file(s) as malware and be inclined to accept the default.

The content of the C:\ProgramData\Filter folder is one file: images, 12 bytes.  It is marked read-only and hidden.  The content of the file in hex is below
Code: [Select]
03 99 4B D4 20 A6 F1 7D    62 87 46 C4

I am attaching the 000.fcl file in zipped format as requested.

Thank you and have a great day.

I am working topic over at Bleeping Computer where RogueKiller has identified some Intuit 2018 QuickBooks files as malicious.  Please see this link.  I think that these are false positives.

I purchased a 2-year subscription for RogueKiller Premium today and scanned my computer.  It is detecting a legitimate Cyberlink file as malicious and is also going after a Bitdefender uninstaller file, some detections that it is reporting as missing.  There is also a folder detection (C:\Program Data\Filter that I regard as a possible false positive.  Scan report attached.  See these URLs for analysis of the detections:

https://www.systemlookup.com/Drivers/10335-000_fcl.html

I run Bitdefender 2019 Total Security and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium, and neither program has detected any of these files.

I just registered on your Forums today.  Thank you and have a great day.

-Phil
